Oh the places you'll go...

For this week's list, I humbly submit the Top Ten places every American should visit in this great land. Please offer your thoughts and add (or give reason for the removal of) places, monuments, sites, or cities you believe belong.

1. The National Archives in Washington DC


2. The National Mall in Washington DC


3. The Alamo-San Antonio TX


4. Mount Vernon-VA


5. Gettysburg Battle Field-Gettysburg PA


6. Arlington National Cemetery-VA


7. Independence Hall-Philadelphia PA


8. The USS Arizona Memorial-HA


9. Thomas Jefferson's Monticello-VA


10. The Statue of Liberty-NY

I have left off some of the more obvious sites such as Mt. Rushmore. I believe that there is little historical significance and the reason for its creation was to attract tourism to South Dakota-a fine business ploy, but not worth travelling across the country for. For those residing relatively close by, it makes for a great trip, but unless I have another reason to pass through the Dakotas, I probably would not be there. It is a great feat I do not wish to detract from. It just fails to make the cut here. No offense Mr. Borglum!

The Archives are listed separately here though they are just off of the National Mall because I believe this is the number one site to visit. Contained in the walls of the Archives are the Magna Carta, The Declaration of Independence, The Bill of Rights and the Constitution as the centerpiece. There are exhibitions and more to see as well, but the main draw are these crucial, beautiful documents. The Archives of the United States belongs on a world list.

The majority of this list could be accomplished within 10 days in Washington, Virginia, and Pennsylvania-with the Liberty Bell to boot. The trip to San Antonio is not out of anyone's way-the food, the Riverwalk, the Tower of the Americas (a space needle 87 ft taller than Seattle's), Sea World, and more. San Antonio is a great town.

The Liberal Agenda...

This week we will list the key components of the liberals' platform that are absolutely contrary to the values that made our nation great. Please comment to expand (or contract) the list as you see fit.

1. Legalization of street drugs


2. The continuation and enabling of infanticide through abortion


3. An all out assault on the definition of family through the homosexual agenda
   
4. The restriction and revocation of gun rights and the right to self defense


5. Dependence on the Government and the expansion of the welfare state, socialization, etc.


6. Inabling societies to defend themselves through justified means via capital punishment


7. Compromising our national security by protecting the enemy-this used to be called TREASON


8. The general disregard for the express writings of the Constitution.
   

These are the battle lines. I personally no longer back the GOP because they simply make too many concessions. They cannot balance out these liberal loons. It takes something much further to the right to combat this movement.

As a matter of principle...

Here is a list of things I am currently boycotting. I'm not actively boycotting I suppose, but simply avoiding every way possible. Here they are none the less for your consideration. Some-like Best Buy-are my own quirks or opinions. I'd boycott Venezuela if they produced anything. What do you "boycott?"

• Target and any other store who bans the Salvation Army Bell ringers at Christmas

The Dangers Facing America...

I am keenly aware of the predicament America is currently in. We are the greatest power in the history of the world-our great civilization can only be defeated from within. Some of the forces capable of causing this implosion are:

• Political Correctness
• Corrupt Politicians/Constitutional Violation
• Illegal Immigration
• Dependence on the Government/Loss of Work Ethics
• Attacks on the Family
• Attacks on Religion/Removal of Religion from Society
• Opressive Taxation
• Teacher's Unions/Indoctrination at Public Schools

Identification of disease is the first step towards treatment. Please name additional dangers you've encountered. Your comments are appreciated and will be used to expand the list. Each danger will be the topic of eventual posts.

Let's begin by stating what this is and what this is not. This is AConservativeProposal.blogspot.com. This is a catalyst for Conservative Thought in today's liberal world. This is not a smear machine for Barak Hussein Obama--his wife alone causes enough embarassment.

Criticism should endeavor to be objective.
